Mortal Kombat on HBO

Mortal Kombat's heart is the fighting and, in that respect, the film doesn't disappoint, with the most hand-to-hand combat seen in a major production in a long time. And all seasoned with corresponding amounts of punch lines, disproportionate gore, and outlandish weaponry. A great piece of dark fantasy, comic book violence, and unbiased fun and one that opens the door for an increasingly massive future of the franchise.
